Southwest Centre for Hyperhidrosis
The Southwest Centre for Hyperhidrosis was developed by Dr. Curtis Dickman to make available a surgical procedure called thorascopic sympathectomy to treat chronic hand sweating. A minimally invasive endoscopic procedure, sympathectomy, requires three small incisions in the chest and this proven approach facilitates rapid recovery and enjoys excellent cosmetic results.
Dr. Dickman is an assertive advocate for sympathectomy as a possible long-term cure for hyperhidrosis versus topical antiperspirants, drysol, drionics and anticholinergic drugs which only provide partial or temporary relief. The Centre is a component of Barrow Neurosurgical Associates, Ltd., one of the most respected neurosurgical practices in the world. Dr. Dickman serves as Director of Spinal Research and Associate Chief, Spine Section of the Barrow Neurological Institute. He also serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Surgery, for the University of Arizona.
