Am I a candidate for the procedure?
You may not be a candidate for the procedure if you suffer from severe lung or heart illness, pleural disease, untreated thyroid diseases or have had prior chest surgery.

When can I have it done?
You can schedule surgery at your convenience. A consultation and examination with the physician are required beforehand. The procedure usually takes only a few hours, and recovery time is less than one week.

Are there any side effects?
Very few. In 20-50% of cases, there may be increased compensatory sweating on the thighs and back, which often resolves itself in time. Other complications are rare.

Is the procedure covered by insurance?
Most insurance companies cover the procedure because it is considered a medical necessity. Please double-check with your insurance carrier.
